Hector & Agueda (Abby) Morales, Founders
Founders Hector and Agueda (Abby) Morales dared to share what they know as the “Taste of Miami—Florida” with the world. “Miami isn’t just where I grew up,” Abby shares. “It’s also where I met the love of my life.”
Miami is where our story began over 30 years ago. After meeting at a music festival in the world-renowned Bayfront Park, we are now proud parents of 5 and grandparents of 2.
Together, we crafted the menu to reflect what it feels like to enjoy lunch or dinner at the Morales residence.
Fusion of Puerto Rican and Cuban Flavors
Although Abby isn’t of Cuban descent, growing up in Miami surrounded by four Cuban “Abuelitas” taught her the art of authentic Cuban cooking. Mima’s Cuban Cafe was born from a simple dream — to share the flavors that shaped their story. From Agueda’s Guatemalan roots to Hector’s Puerto Rican heritage, blended with Miami’s vibrant Cuban spirit, every dish tells a tale. Visit Mima’s and take a nostalgic trip down memory lane — with Mima by your side.
